NewsGator 1.0 released

Blogs February 24th, 2003

Greg Reinacker has released NewsGator — .Net-based RSS news aggregator for Outlook.

Congratulations Greg! I’ve been using NewsGator since the early betas and my favorite feature has always been its tight integration with Outlook.

However IMHO, it would make the experience complete if you could also post to a blog via the MetaWeblog API or some-such.

    Hi Steve,

For now, the referrer tag is blank and not user-adjustable. We’ll see what kind of feedback comes back on this…

And glad you like it! :-)

    Greg,

You Rock and so does NewsGator :-)

I especially like how you’ve dealt with titles in Manila feeds (e.g. Scripting News and Doc’s feeds)

Also, whatever happened with the discussion about referral urls? Are going to make it configurable or is it just going to stay blank?

I have to say that I’d like it to be a configurable setting. It’s nice to know where some of your users are coming from …

Anyway, I again like to say how much I enjoy and depend on NewsGator!

Thanks for producing a great product.

    Best regards,

    Steve
